About Cholestatrim™
Cholestatrim™ is the newest and most effective all-natural cholesterol support supplement on the
market. It was designed by a team of bio-chemists to support the 6 key areas of cardio health related to cholesterol:
* LDL (bad) cholesterol levels, when higher increase your risk of heart disease.
* HDL (good) cholesterol levels, which better enables your body to recycle LDL cholesterol safely.
* Oxidized LDL cholesterol which is the REALLY bad kind of cholesterol that can be transformed into arterial plaque.
* Triclyceride levels, which when higher, increases your risk factor for heart disease.
* Homocysteine levels in the blood which increases the amount of oxidized LDL cholesterol and arterial plaque,
thereby raising the risk of heart disease.
* Chronic inflammation in the arteries and oxidation of LDL cholesterol by destructive free radical molecules.
What Makes Cholestatrimtm Better Than Other Products?
Most natural cholesterol-support supplements on the market only help lower the bad cholesterol and possibly raise good cholesterol
levels. A few, also help lower triglycerides.
But, Cholestatrimtm goes much further. You see, lowering bad cholesterol is only the first step in
lowering your risk of heart disease. The real problems start when the LDL (bad) cholesterol becomes oxidized and begins the
process of chronic inflammation in your arteries.
Hundreds of studies have shown that this oxidation process is often caused by free radical molecules. These free radicals are unstable
molecules that are formed in normal cell metabolism. Your body naturally counteracts them via antioxidants - some of which are produced by
your body and others obtained in foods you eat.
However, free radical production is greatly increased when your cells are stressed by high-fatty foods, environmental toxins, smoking, stress,
poor nutrition, and other causes still unknown. When this happens, and there are not sufficient antioxidants in your body, free radicals
can go unchecked, causing damage to cells, such as LDL cholesterol.
Eventually, the cholesterol becomes oxidized, causing the body to try to fix it by sending cells called monocytes to absorb the oxidized LDL
cholesterol. When these monocytes become overwhelmed with too much LDL, they turn into foam cells and attach themselves to the sensitive
inner lining of the artery. Eventually, they turn into hardened plaques which restrict the flow of blood through your arteries.
This also starts the process leading to hardening of the arteries (artherosclerosis) and chronic inflammation, both of which increase your
risk for heart attacks and stroke. This is the REAL problem caused by high cholesterol and the one you should be most interested in
solving. After all, too much cholesterol in your blood is not a problem by itself. It’s the plaque that forms later resulting from
the oxidation of the LDL cholesterol.
Cholestatrimtm addresses these problems using powerful antioxidants to reduce the amount of oxidized LDL
cholesterol.
On top of that, scientific research has identified another major contributor to heart disease - homocysteine. For more information, go
to our homocysteine information page. Basically, homocysteine is a byproduct produced by the body which over 40 major clinical studies have
shown to increase the risk of heart attacks, stroke, and arterial disease.
Homocysteine makes a cholesterol problem worse by causing the body to produce more of it to help repair the damage the homocysteine does
to the artery walls. The less of it you have in your blood, the better.
Homocysteine can be reduced by the use of Vitamins B6, B12, and Folic Acid. Since many people do not have enough of these nutrients in
their diet to control their Homocysteine levels, taking supplements becomes very important. Cholestatrimtm
is the only natural cholesterol-support supplement to contain this vital trio of vitamins.
Cholestatrim™ Uses Powerful and Effective Ingredients….
Policosanol – made from sugar-cane extract, this natural ingredient is fast becoming the #1 natural alternative for
supporting healthy cholesterol levels. Over the past 20 years, there have been over 50 studies done with Policosanol involving 4,596
patients around the world. A number of these studies have verified cholesterol improvements as good or better than statin drugs with no
significant side effects. Here are just a few of the results:
In one randomized, double-blind study on 59 patients over 24 weeks, those taking policosanol had LDL cholesterol drop by 27.4%, total
cholesterol dropped by 15.6%, and HDL cholesterol rose by 17.6%. There were no significant changes in the placebo group.
A double-blind, randomized study of 56 post-menopausal women over 16 weeks resulted in decreased LDL (bad) cholesterol of 26.7%, decreased
total cholesterol of 19.5%, and increased HDL cholesterol of 7.4%. (Dosage 10 mg.)
In addition, the studies showed Policosanol’s other benefits to the heart:
- Reduces the oxidation of LDL cholesterol, which is critical in improving atherosclerosis.
- Decreases platelet aggregation (blood cells sticking together), which is basically what aspirin does. This helps your blood flow
more smoothly and reduces clotting.
- Reduces damage to the sensitive endothelium (the outer layer of the artery) where atherosclerosis begins.
- Reduces symptoms of intermittent claudification, which is the leg muscle soreness caused by clogging of the arteries.
Resveratrol – This new “wonder natural antioxidant” is a polyphenol plant compound found most commonly in red grape
skins. Resveratrol is widely believed to be the reason behind the “French Paradox” – the relatively low rate of heart disease in
French people despite eating a high fat diet.
A 2006 study on Resveratrol at Harvard Medical School reported: “Findings suggest broad implications for the treatment of age-related diseases
including diabetes and heart disease”. Studies have shown positive effects of Resveratrol on heart health including:
- Decreases oxidized LDL cholesterol in the blood
- Supports increased HDL (good) cholesterol
- Opens blood flow in main arteries by enhancing nitric oxide (a substance produced by the body to help blood vessels
relax).
- Decreases the tendency of blood cells to stick together which helps in the prevention of heart attacks.
Niacin – Long known to be excellent for heart health, hundreds of studies have shown the ability of Niacin to help lower LDL
cholesterol levels, raise HDL (good) cholesterol levels, support lower triglycerides, reduce platelets from sticking together, and prevent
harmful clots from forming by reducing fibrinogen in the blood.
Proprietary Blend of Plant Extracts – Cholestatrim™’s exclusive blend includes
Hawthorne, Ginkgo Biloba, Garlic, Alpha Lipoic Acid, and Coenzyme Q10 which further support healthy cardiovascular function.
Vitamins A, C, & E -
Vitamin E is critical because of its ability to attach itself to LDL (bad) Cholesterol cells and prevent them from being
oxidized.
Vitamin C helps protect the thin, endothelium layer of the artery wall. This is where much of the inflammation process begins.
Also, Vitamin C helps LDL cholesterol from being oxidized and can help regenerate Vitamin E.
Vitamin A (we use the beta-carotene form which is non-toxic in any quantity) is a powerful antioxidant which helps scavenge free
radicals and supports heart health.
There are many studies showing the link between taking these 3 vitamins and improved heart health.
In a 1997 article in the New England Journal of Medicine, Dr. Marco Diaz concluded that patients with the highest levels of antioxidants
(including A, C, & E) in their bodies had the least amount of coronary artery disease.
A study of 5,000 Finnish adults showed the relationship between intake of vitamins A, C, and E and reduction in coronary mortality.
SPECIAL NOTE – Cholestatrim™ uses an extra potent, much more effective type of Vitamin C called
Ascorbitol which is more stable and contains bioflavonoids (another form of plant based antioxidants) .
Vitamin B complex – Vitamins B6, B12, and Folic acid are critical in reducing homocysteine in the blood. The body does
this by converting homocysteine back into a harmless substance using enzymes. These enzymes need the B-vitamins (which many people are
deficient in) to perform this vital function.
Alpha Lipoic Acid - this powerful antioxidant has been found to be very beneficial in a variety of health
situations.
The University of Cal-Berkeley Wellness Letter has said, “Alpha Lipoic Acid is a versatile antioxidant. It helps deactivate an unusually
wide array of cell-damaging free radicals in many bodily systems”.
CO-Q10 – A bonus heart energy booster. This fat-soluble vitamin is also a potent antioxidant that is especially
important in muscle cells. And no muscle is more vital than your heart. Your heart needs lots of CO-Q10. Because it’s difficult
for your body to get all the nutrients needed to produce CO-Q10 in large amounts, taking it in supplement form is often necessary.
Side Note: One of the documented side-effects of statin drugs is that they reduce the body’s ability to produce
CO-Q10. Not only can this result in muscle soreness, but it can possibly weaken the heart muscle.
